The Domestic Offices

Are entirely shut off from the remainder of the Mansion, but very accessible for ready service,
and are most completely fitted, conveniently planned and well-lighted.

They comprise:-

On Ground Floor,
HOUSEKEEPER'S ROOM, fitted with range of Cupboards; LARGE STORE ROOM, fitted with Shelves and Cupboards; BUTLER'S PANTRY with Sink, Plate Safe, Cupboards, and alcove for Bedstead; CHINA STORE; Well-fitted STILL ROOM; Very lofty KITCHEN, 24 feet by 24 feet, with Wood Block Floor, Glazed Brick Walls and Top Light, and fitted with Dresser and numerous Cupboards; COAL STORE; PASTRY AND MEAT LARDERS; SCULLERY with Sink, Copper, Coal and Vegetable Stores, W.C. &c.; TRADESMEN'S DOOR. All these lead from wide Corridor with Glazed Brick Walls, and approached by a separate Staircase is large BEDROOM for Menservants, with Hot and Cold Water supplies and separate W.C.

On Lower Ground Floor,
Approached by Two Staircases, having Luggage and Coal Lift to Top of House, and paved with wood block floor are, Coal Store, Bell Battery Room, Store Room, Boot Hole, Brushing Room, Three Wine Cellars, Servants' Hall with Pantry adjoining, Strong Room, Lavatory, W.C., Workshop, Box Store and Cellars, &c., whilst

Outside in Yard
Are Dairy with Glazed Brick Walls and Slate Shelves; Coal Store; Carpenter's Shop; Furnace Room, &c.

Capital Laundry
Including WASH HOUSE, fitted with Copper and Four Washing Trays, with Hot and Cold Water supplies; IRONING ROOM, with Stove and Ten Drying Racks; DRYING YARD; LAUNDRYMAIDS' APARTMENTS, comprising Sitting Room, Kitchen, Scullery, and Double Bedroom over.

The Mansion is lighted throughout with Electric Light (generated on the premises), the whole installation being duplicated so as to avoid inconvenience in the event of a breakdown, and is fitted with Electric Bells; the Hall and Principal Rooms are heated by Hot Water, whilst Gas and Company's Water are laid on. There is also a very large rain-water tank in yard with automatic electric pump to cistern in roof.

The Sanitation which is connected with the Main Sewer, is believed to be all that can be desired.

All the Internal Fittings, Woodwork, etc., are of exceptionally fine quality and character, whilst all the stoves have been specially constructed to burn anthracite coal, thus ensuring great cleanliness and absence of smoke, and the Mansion has been built with every consideration to artistic effect and convenience of plan.

 

The Excellent Model Stabling,

Situate at a convenient remove from the Mansion, and having separate entrance, is most substantially built, is exceptionally well-planned round a Large paved yard, is lighted by Gas and Electric Light, has Musgrave's fittings, and is well-appointed in every detail.

 

 

It includes FIVE-STALL STABLE; THREE-STALL STABLE; THREE LOOSE BOXES; HEATED COACH HOUSE for Twelve Carriages; CLEANING ROOM, with Sink, Copper, and Heating stove; capital HARNESS ROOM, with Glazed Harness and Bit Cupboards; above are LARGE LOFT, GROOMS' ROOM, FOUR CUBICLES, LIVING ROOM with Range. MEN'S WASH HOUSE with Fitted Sink and Hanging Cupboards.

Near the Stables are

Coachman's Cottage of Five Rooms,
Engine House, Dynamo House and Battery Store;
whilst almost adjoining are

The well-equipped Farm Buildings,
Comprising Fodder house, Wash-house, Cowshed for four, and ditto for two; range of Brick-built Piggeries, Two-Stall Stable, Slaughter-house, Brick-built and tiled Dutch Barn, Dog Kennel, and Open Cart Shed, with Lock-up Loft over.
